Ministry VIDEOS from Honduras

Why would you go and live in a 3rd world country?  What does a missionary do?  What is it like to live and work in Honduras?  Who are the Lenca?  How are our mission $$$ used? What is the need?  These are some of the questions that we are frequently asked.  This 14 minute video will answer all these questions - AND MORE! (Make sure your sound is turned up.)

My husband took videos some of our ministry team as they were on the way to our work in Zapotillo.  The 2 - 2 1/2 hour hike is a bit much for my husband now, and so a dear friend of our ministry donated two Rokon moto-tractors to make this trip.  It was the very first time any motorized vehicle had traveled that trail!  Mike arrived MUCH less tired but, even with the Rokons, it was still a pretty rough trip.

Every Sunday morning, we cross this bridge to get to the three mountain villages of Ojo de Agua, San Lorenzo, and Naranjitos so that we can hold services.  Life in Honduras can be quite the adventure at times!

This is another clip of "The Bridge" in our continuing saga of our life in Honduras.  The roads to our mountain works are quite an adventure in themselves... but when you factor in this bridge every week it REALLY gets exciting!

The children in all of my classes LOVE to sing... and the favorite song in ALL my classes is "I'm In the Lord's Army".  This is my class in Ojo de Agua singing for the church service and a visiting medical missions team from North Carolina.  Enjoy!

In the summer of 2011 two teams made mission trips to Honduras to visit the work there and minister to the people.  Friend and fellow missionary Dwayne Chase was the trip coordinator and contact for Pastor Jim Callen and the building team from Eastern Avenue Baptist Church from St. Cloud, Florida.  In four days, they put up the walls and roof of the In Christ Baptist Church in the Lenca community of Naranjitos where, afterward, over 100 people from that remote community attended a celebration service!  The following week, our vehicles were kept busy shuttling around the Pleasantview Baptist Church from Arlington, Texas, where long time friend, Jimmy McNeil, is pastor.  In addition to visiting several works of fellow missionaries they built a fence for one of the families in our church and painted the inside of the newly constructed fellowship hall in our main church in La Esperanza, New Hope Baptist.  The trip coordinator was our dear friends and 30 year veteran missionaries to Honduras, Jim and Dot Foster.  During their visit here, the people of Honduras surprised them with a special service in which they were honored!
Much thanks and appreciation to both of these churches for being such a blessing to our people and to us!

THIS IS OUR MINISTRY VIDEO FROM 2010
Mike and Debbie Lane have been missionaries in Honduras since 1997.  They are church planters and teachers.  Their main church, New Hope Baptist in La Esperanza, Intibucá, is the hub of their ministry.  Each week, they and their team of co-workers also work in several communities in the surrounding mountains among the forgotten people group, known as the Lenca Indians.  Their goal is to teach the truth of God's Word and His gift of salvation, lead these dear people to a saving knowledge of Christ, baptize and organize them into independent, indigenous Baptist churches, and teach and instruct them in Biblical truths so that they, in turn, may continue to do the same.  This video is just a small sample of the work there and how God is working in this small Central American country.
